Ringing in the New Year

posted in: General News | 0

I’m not sure what you did to ring in the New Year, but I know 13 people that were on a bus headed towards Jimaní after being picked up at the airport as the New Year dawned in the Dominican Republic. They then spent the first week of the year helping us get the hospital cleaned and organized, working on a variety of maintenance projects, sharing bible stories and crafts in neighborhoods and villages, and preparing our preschool for it’s grand opening. Sunday morning, January 2nd, we attended a communion service in the Haitian village, Batey 41. It is a precious community, and a great place to start the New Year. The team took on the seemingly impossible task of cleaning and organizing the hospital. The before and after pictures speak for themselves; I never imagined that they would accomplish this in a week.

Looking forward into the next few months,

  • Mom and Dad move down on the 30th
  • Preschool Class on the Jimaní campus
  • Tutoring and Homework Help program on the Jimaní campus
  • Continue to Pursue Government Recognition of the Orphanage/Children’s Home
  • Pursue Government Recognition of the Hospital
  • Continue working with Short-Term Mission Groups
  • Continue to improve the school and church in Batey 41
  • Start school and church in Batey 40

We are excited about what the new year has in store.  We appreciate your prayers and support as we continue to follow God’s lead in what he has laid out for this coming year.
