You may have noticed a change to our website. It seemed like the best way to notify everybody of some upcoming changes to our ministry in Jimaní. Yes, my parents, John and Rhonda, will be joining us as full time missionaries here on the Haiti/Dominican border. My dad will be heading up an orthotics and prosthetics clinic and manufacturing shop here on the mission property, and my mom will be coordinating our pre-school programs on property and in the bateys. We are excited about the opportunities that their full-time presence will bring to the ministry. My dad has over 40 years of experience in orthotics and prosthetics. The number of new amputees following the earthquake has been estimated to be as high as 6000. While thankfully, many people came to help following the earthquake, there is need for continuing ongoing follow-up care. We will be coordinating with clinics in both the Dominican Republic and Haiti to meet the needs of the amputee community. We are in the process of starting pre-school and school programs, and in addition to having raised a remarkable son, my mom has over 30 years of experience in early childhood development. So, both of them are going to have their work cut out for them, but once again it is exciting to see how God has put the pieces together. While we are looking forward to be living in the same town as family again, the need for their skills and talents are what we are truly excited to see God use.
