Our Emergency Shelter provides temporary placement of a couple of nights up to a week for children that need a safe place. Often times these are children that have crossed the border from Haiti as “Unaccompanied Minors” or crossing with adults that are unable to provide proof of parental consent to travel.  We work with the Child Welfare Department and Border Patrol to provide a safe place for kids to stay while their parents are located and they children can be reunited with their family.

Other children may be placed with us if an abuse allegation has been made against their primary caregivers and the children are placed with us temporarily until appropriate family members can be located.
